Swooshy Halloween

Swooshy Halloween

Halloween is around the corner and I made a few cards for a friend to send out. I really love the swooshy-technique, each paper will look different, and you can layer and layer and layer.

This type of card is pure play – creating the background with ink-pads dabbed on a non-stick silicone mat (or any plastic sheet like a sheet protector), then spritzed with water. And now the fun begins: swoosh your Shimmery White card stock through the colorful goodness, dry and repeat until you like your new background. I did the same with the envelopes.

Adding a few  stamps (Very Versailles) for texture in similar colors, and your background panel is done!

I used a retired The Raven stamp set (Stampin’ UP!) in Staz-On ink for the branch and Versamark ink with black embossing powder for the Raven and Greeting. Some twine and sequins from my stash added just enough dimension.
